Fortis TT Duo Headed to Commonwealth Games

Commonwealth Games Team:  Left to Right--Nigel Webb, Gavin Hylton & Darryl Strachan

Two young KC Old Boys, Darryl Strachan and Gavin Hylton,  have been selected as part of the three-man team to the Commonwealth games in Melbourne, Australia during March, 2006.

Darryl Strachan is a  former KC Table Tennis team captain and Deputy Headboy, he has 17 international medals to his credit. In 2002, he became the first KC sportsman from the Headboy or Deputy Headboy ranks to represent Jamaica in sports at the senior level when he competed at the CAC games in El Salvador.

 Darryl was captain of the victorious Jamaica U-17 team at the 2000 Caribbean Junior Championship in French Guiana. It was our first & only title in the 19 year history of the event. Darryl has represented Jamaica at the Caribbean Junior & Senior Championships, Latin American Senior & Junior Championships and has won five medals at the prestigious US Open Championships.

 Darryl is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science at UWI having recently received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Electronics from the same institution.

Gavin Hylton has 8 international medals to his credit and has represented Jamaica at Caribbean Junior and Senior Championships, Latin American Junior Championships where he was an U-17 bronze medalist and the Commonwealth Games in 2002. Gavin was also the U-17 singles champion at the Goddard's Invitational in Barbados and has 3 medals garnered at the US Open.
