Holmwood Technical High School is located in the hills of Christiana in the parish of Manchester. There are alumni chapters in Atlanta, Toronto, New York, Florida, DC Metropolitan and Jamaica.
The Atlanta Chapter, which is one of the youngest, was formed in October 2002 with a Mandate of "Educating One Student at a Time." In the chapter's four years of existence it has hosted a Valentines Dinner Dance each year with all the proceeds going towards solidifying the mandate.
Listed below is a breakdown of what has been accomplished thus far:
2003-2004 - 4 full scholarships $1,200 US Dollars
Color TV & VCR for the Guidance Counseling Department
Complete First Aid Kit for the Athletics Department (with a pledge to replenish annually)
2004-2005 - 16 scholarships $5,500 US Dollars
2005-2006 - 29 scholarships $12,000 US Dollars - One of our Upper Sixth form recipient is the current Head Boy
Goals for 2006-2007
Award at least 40 scholarships
Begin working on refurbishing and restocking the School Library and renaming it the "The Carter Library"
Conduct annual mentorship workshops for all scholarship applicants
