A Caribbean Nights Dream Fashion and Cabaret Show Wows Atlantans

Miss Jamaica World 2005 -Terri Terri-Karelle Griffith.

Atlantans were enthralled recently at “A Caribbean Nights Dream Fashion and Cabaret Show” held at the Holiday Inn Select on Sunday, April 23rd 2006. The highly successful evening was produced by A Fashion Affair under the distinguished patronage of Ambassador Andrew Young and Jamaica’s honorary consul to Atlanta, Vin Martin with a portion of the evening’s proceeds benefiting the Atlanta - Montego Bay Sister Cities Health Mission.


The evening’s entertainment featured works by international designers such as Mark McDermoth and Carl Williams of Uzuri International Limited who are known as the “Dolce & Gabbana” of Jamaican fashion; Jackie Cohen of Mutamba International Fashion; Cheryl Robinson of Polka Dots Swimwear Limited and Bill Edwards of Bill Edwards’ Men Design.


Also featured were Atlanta designers such as Linda Sears of TK Designs in Sandy Springs, Georgia and Marcia Lopez of Phoebes Boutique at Stone Crest Mall. Local talent such as Atlanta's Jazz Artist, Teresa Hightower and the Unity Dance Ensemble, one of Atlanta’s hottest dance groups.


Terri Karelle Griffiths, Miss Jamaica World 2005, the featured guest model, thrilled the crowd and showed why she was voted “Miss Congeniality” at the Miss World contest in China last December.
A lot of work went into the execution of the show and kudos go to Tafawah Thompson of "Jamaica Manhunt;" Roxene Nickels, Empress and Audrey Crooks exceptional models, Kevin Chilsolm and Weston Haughton " The Fashion guru/MC extraordinaire;” Faith Whyte and Christine Newton, event coordinators; Mike Martin and his volunteers; the models: Vina Jumper, Amanda Stuart, Calys Stewart, Kadian Langalis, Juanchella Grooms, Roz, Saphire, Ayisha, Karla Chambers, Michael Martin, Omar Reeves, Leonard Pyne and Mr. Dan McBain, hotel manager and guest model of the Holiday Inn and his staff; Mr. Reuben Miller and Mr.Tony Silvera, transport team for Miss Jamaica World, Unity Dance Ensemble, Ms. Theresa Hightower and Mr. Earl Adams of Withmore Inc. who provided web services.


People are still talking about the talent and energy that was on display on that special evening. The word is certainly out and we can hardly wait to see what Norma Jean Martin, wife of KCOB "Captain" Mike Martin and President of A Fashion Affair will serve up for us next year.
