Brian Latore awarded cricket scholarship to UTECH

Former captain of KC 2003 Grace Shield cricket team has been awardeda cricket scholarship  to pursue a 4 year BSc degree programme in Business Administration at the University of Technology.
Latore forms  part of the Unversity’s  Under 23 programme  comprising some 17 cricketers with good prospect to represent  Jamaica . They will be nurtured in an  academy under renowned former Jamaican cricketer Terrence Corke. Capital and Credit will be  assisting the programme by way of sponsorship of a modern scoreboard as part of the overall development of the cricket infrastructure at the University
The scholarship will cover tuition and books with the prospect for boarding depending on academic performance and discipline.

Latore has satisfied the academic requirement for entering the programme with some six CXC ‘O”level in addition to his outstanding prowess as a cricketer. He entered the hallowed halls of Kingston College from Duhaney Park Primary in 1998 He was one of the best KC batsman  with the likes of 2004-2006 captain of Jamaica U19 Jamie Trenchfield, around the turn of the century scoring some 3 tons whilst representing the school for some 6 years at the under 14 through to colts to Sunlight Cup and latterly Grace Shield. He shared the captaincy of the successful KC Grace Shield cricket team with Christopher McLean that won the 2003 Jamaica International Insurance KO title. An off-spinner as well, he represented Kinston Cricket Club at the junior and senior cup levels and captained Colours International. to the title of the inaugural 2005 Portmore Cricket League
