Charmaine Rose of the Port Authority of Jamaica recently handed over her company's cheque for $10,000 to KC’s Principal, Rupert Hemmings. The money will be used to purchase a 400 gallon water tank to alleviate the water shortage and low water pressure problems at the school.
The tank will be installed on the roof of the Douglas Forrest Building where it will gravity feed water to the school sanitary facilities, such as the main bathroom and toilet facilities on this block.
It is hoped that the tank will be installed by the end of November 2006. Plans are afoot to install similar capacity tanks at the sports auditorium and canteen. The overall programme is seen as an interim one pending the sinking of a well at Clovelly Park.
