KCPTA Nominates Candidates for November Elections

1
KCPTA Members
A packed KCPTA general meeting was held on October 12, 2006 at St. Augustine’s Chapel, Kingston College. Eleven candidates were nominated to fill five posts at its rescheduled Annual General meeting on November 10, 2006.

The October 12 meeting was originally intended to be the 2006 AGM but fell through because the required 21 days notice was not fulfilled. Parents, however, felt that there were too many pressing issues facing the school that needed urgent attention and therefore agreed to nominate and receive pledges from the candidates without delay. The parents bawled out that they wanted the following:

  1. Structured and supervised homework programme
  2.  Restoration of KC to its former of pre-eminence in the academic sphere and number one in the island.
  3. Enhancement of  the school environment and image
  4. Promotion of discipline
  5. Mentoring and form parenting
  6. Putting back the T in the PTA through  partnership

Each of the 11 candidates stepped up to the microphone and pledged their undying loyalty and unswerving commitment to the aims and objectives of the school.
