On Saturday, September 9, 2006, a donation totaling US$3,000 was given to Mr. Bernard Channer, Treasurer of the Kingston College Development Trust Fund, on behalf of Mr. Whylie Chambers. Whylie is a former director of the KCOBA Atlanta chapter.
This contribution was raised from two celebrations held to mark Whylie’s 50th Birthday. One was held in Atlanta and the other in Kingston. The event in Atlanta raised U$1,265, while J$14,500 was raised in Kingston. The balance was donated by an anonymous donor.
Whylie is challenging all chapters, and individual alumni of Kingston College, to step up to the plate and help the trust fund achieve its goal. The development trust fund is an investment in the long-term future and not just the short term needs of Kingston College.
