1

Cawayne Jervis

KC's Cawayne Jervis figured amongst Jamaica's gold medal winning men's 4 x 100 metres relay team at the 11th IAAF World Junior Championship at the Chaoyang Sports Centre in Bejing China on Sunday August 20.

Jervis ran the third leg and handed the baton over to St Jago's Yohan Blake. Other members of the quartet were JC's Winston Barnes who started and handed over to Camperdown's Remaldo Rose. The quartet clocked a world junior leading 39.05 seconds emulating the 1998 team of Steve Slowly, Roy Bailey, Paul Thompson and Dwight Thomas.

Jervis is the first KC athlete to win a gold medal at the World Junior Championship. He was the double class 2 sprint winner at the 2005 Boys and Girls Championships.
