The Atrium of Atlanta’s City hall came alive on Sunday, March 25th 2007 for the Atlanta - Montego Bay Sister Cities Annual Brunch. Funds raised at the event will be used for the annual health mission to Montego Bay. Over the years, the Atlanta-Montego Bay Sister Cities Health Mission to Montego Bay has contributed more than US$500,000 in medicine, supplies and services.
While supporting a worthy cause, attendees enjoyed Jamaican favorites such as jerk chicken, escoveitch fish, rice and peas, fried dumpling, fried plantains, calaloo and saltfish, and potato pudding all catered by Carmen’s Catering.
Entertainment was provided by a lineup of gospel soloists including, Jackie Young, Selecia Warner and Perry Cooper. T’ka Martin performed a creative dance to the music of “Titanic” while “Calypso Al” Russell entertained in his inimitable style. Music was provided by DJ Glen Osbourne.

The Atlanta-Montego Bay Sister Cities Committee is chaired by Jamaica’s honorary consul to Atlanta, Vin Martin, who gave the welcome and opening remarks. Claire McLeveighn, Director of External Affairs and International Relations for the City
of Atlanta, brought greetings on behalf of Atlanta’s mayor, Shirley Franklin. The invocation was delivered by Claudette Cotterell while Marjorie Wilson gave the audience a report on the most recent medical mission completed in October of 2006. The MC for the occasion was Derek Scott.
