It was by sheer luck that, in 1971, I found my way back to the campus of the University of Arizona in Tucson.
You see, it was my first trip to the “States” and just a few days after my arrival from Jamaica, I decided to explore by taking the bus from the campus to downtown Tucson.
Before I went on the bus I carefully looked around for a landmark so I could know where to get off of the bus on my return trip. The landmark I selected was, of all things, a
McDonalds Restaurant, not knowing at the time that there were McDonalds on almost every block in Tucson and with the golden arches, they all looked alike.
