Sheila Hoo Sang Honored at Graduation 2007

“A Lady with True Fortis Spirit”
The following tribute is reprinted from the Graduation 2007 programme:

Sheila Hoo Sang & Lance Seymour

Guidance counselor, Mrs. Sheila Hoo Sang, fondly known as “Miss Osang” to her students, began her sojourn at Kingston College in 1975 as a Religious Education teacher.  She has been a quiet heroine to many because of her philanthropy.

She is always concerned about boys having something to eat and is often heard saying, “every boy haffi taste a little lunch; later wi worry ‘bout dinner.”

There is nothing she would not do for the students.

She has always made herself available for every aching heart.  Even the “baddest” of students become tame under Mrs. Hoo Sang’s counsel.  Despite the obstacles she faces, she does not whine or give up. It is this tenacity for which she is admired by both students and staff.   Like the “Energizer Bunny,” she keeps going and going and going.

In her lies the true FORTIS spirit.

For her dedication, unyielding efforts, quiet demeanor and her sense of humor, we the graduating class of 2007, are proud to honour, Mrs. Sheila Hoo Sang
