GSAT Scholarship Winner, Rajae Allen, to Attend KC
Rajae Michael Allen
Eleven-year-old Rajae Michael Allen of Vaz Preparatory is one of 32 recipients of the Government of Jamaica GSAT 2007 Scholarship.
He will be among the nineteen Vaz Prep students entering the hallowed portals of Kinston College commencing with the 2007 /08 academic year in September. It was no surprise to his teachers and classmates when he topped the Grade Six Achievement Test for his school because Rajae was always head of the class from the moment he entered Vaz Prep pre-school at the age of 2 ½ years in 1999.
The son of Gary and Ivorine Allen of Greater Portmore, Rajae, who is regarded as a ‘Champ’ by his father, registered the following scores on the GSAT 2007 Exams:
Maths-100
Science-100
Social Studies -96
Language Arts-91
Composition -11
When compared with his 300 cohorts who will be entering KC in autumn of 2007, “The Prince” scored the top marks in Maths, Science and Social Studies. Only Jordan Forbes of Mavisville Prep and John Luke Foster of St. Peters and Paul Prep with respective scores of 93 and 94 in Language Arts registered higher scores. Brian Bailey of Wolmer’s Prep topped the Composition marks for the school with a score of 12.
Rajae attends Tae Kwondo training with his mom and dad. His father who is a KC old Boy (Class of 1984) and former banker of 19 years, often carries his’ little champ’ to an endgame in Chess. At Vaz Rajae played a little football and briefly tried out in track and field.
Maths and Sciences are his favourite subjects but Raje is still tossing up in his head as to what professional career to pursue at this stage.
