Labour Day at KC

Labor Day 2007 (May 23rd in Jamaica) was observed in Jamaica with the theme, “Honouring our ancestors-strengthening our communities.”

Over 100 members of the KC family comprising teachers, students and parents undertook two projects at the Clovelly Campus and one at the Melbourne campus.

At Clovelly, principal Rupert Hemmings and his VP Everton Burrell worked with members of the colts cricket team in clearing the newly restored Mclean/Neil Cricket Nursery of debris. The KCPTA led by President Anthony Allen, his VP Patricia Bignall and other members of the executive, spearheaded painting and cleaning of the dreaded 4th form “Dunkirk block.”

Vice Principal O’Neil Smith, class teachers Raphael Knight and Gregory Brown coordinated students and parents in painting the 7th and 9th grades as well as the science lab and cleaning up of the grounds at the Melbourne campus.
