Former NBA star, Tim Hardaway, paid a visit to KC on Friday, June 15, 2007. It was his first stop on a four-day promotional tour of basketball facilities on the island.
Some 30 KC basketball players, including the sports master Noel Channer, were on hand to witness demonstrations and motivational talks by the former Miami Heat star.
The superstar’s visit to the island formed part of Upliftment Jamaica/INSPORTS/Puma Summer Sports championship, which was in its 8th year. The organizers hope that his presence at the rural venues and inner city communities served to bring attention to the lack of facilities and to promote the development of the sport.

Neighbours from St George’s College joined the students at KC. The touring group then moved on to Greenwich Town All-Age and afterwards headed for Paul Bogle High in St Thomas.
