It was about a decade or more ago that KC acquired its first bus, thanks largely to the leading role played  by the Kingston College Parent Teachers Association (KCPTA). At that time, KCOB Victor Henry was at the helm, his first son was at KC, and he had steered the ship for 7 unbroken years with distinction. Close to a fifteen years hiatus followed thereafter. However, when second son Justine entered KC – as head of the class in September 2009, Victor ended his dormancy. He swore by Jehovah that his son is at the “Kollege” to stay . “He must stay in an environment conducive to learning with a clean and safe and solid infrastructure”. It was then that Victor Henry  recognized the enormous challenge facing his beloved alma mater . Fired-up with enthusiasm,  he  started agitating for change . He went into the mode of a “Driva”-started lifting his profile and was very visible on  both campuses.

Victor’s perseverance paid dividends, as on October 7, 2009 to be exact, the Bank of Jamaica executive was elected president at the AGM of the KCPTA in the St. Augustine Chapel . Like many of the new members of his executive, the astute former Chairman of KCOBA Jamaica, did not have to campaign. He had no programmatic platform -no slate, no silly season. Rather, at the meeting he strategically positioned himself, asked only one question of the treasurer and resumed his seat to murmurs of approval from a vocal crew in his northern corner of the Chapel. Four persons were nominated for the post of president and each was invited to make a statement. It was clear that it was over by a shout when the wily banker, relished the platform and unleashed his legacy asset.

Victor Henry will have the others to serve with him on the executive. Hector Daley -1st vice president;
Patricia Bignall-2nd vice president; Ishiwawa (gift from mother and father)Hope-secretary; Sharon Brown –Brotherton-asst.secretary; Karen Lumsden-PRO; and, Joeth Hall-asst PRO.

KC now has a formidable triumvirate at the helm- Herbert ”motivator” Nelson - principal ; Rae “of hope” Fraser – president, KCOBA Jamaica and Victor  “the driva” Henry – president, KCPTA.
