Spencer who received 1st team all state honors, placed 2nd at the NXN Northeast regional leading his Bosco team back to the national meet for the 2nd time where they placed 6th.
The choice for Spencer also seemed to be an easy one, “I choose Columbia University because I knew how the coaches would help me develop as a runner. They would be willing to take time with each individual and meet their needs. I could tell that these men care about not only the team as a whole but each individual on that team. I felt completely at home while on Columbia's campus. The environment had a huge part to do with my decision. Columbia being located in the heart of New York City only helped my decision. I also choose Columbia University because it is an Ivy League institution and can provide me with a meaningful degree and open doors in the future. From the first time I visited Columbia...I knew it was the school for me.”
