President of the New York Chapter, Robert Kelly presented a cheque for $608,000 to guidance counsellor Sonia Wilson-Watson to cover tuition, books and incidentals for 32 KC students in the 9th, 10th and 11th grades for the 2009/10 academic year. The donation formed part of the New York Chapter's annual scholarship programme for needy students attending KC who have attained high academic standards and display high level of discipline.
The presentation took place at the office of the guidance counsellor at Melbourne whilst Robert Kelly was on a 7 day (September17-24)working visit to the island to appraise himself of the New York programmes of assistance in the areas of education, health, social well-being and sports.
The New York president also presented a cheque of $21,000 to nurse Tanasha Tyrell -Bonner for the purchase of a Daewoo 4.5 cubic foot refrigerator for the nurse's station. This will be used to store medication, ice pack and water.
A cheque for $32,000 was presented to sports master, Anshuman Kentish, for procurement of cricket gear.

Whilst on the island, Kelly took time out of his busy schedule to participte in the KCOBA Jamaica one day retreat at the Courtleigh on Saturday, September 19th.
