former manning cup captain excels at mt. vernon nazarene

Chris Allen

Chris Allen, captain of the 2007 Manning Cup team has been selected to the American Mideast Conference (AMC) second team for his stand out role in leading the Mt. Vernon Nazarene University soccer team to the AMC Tournament. Allen a forward in his second year, as so far scored seven goals, four of which have been game winners, he has also contributed seven assists. His goals and assists have been major contributors to the Cougars success, the team ended the regular season with a record of 12-5-1, and at the time of writing had advanced to the semi-finals of the AMC Tournament. This recent recognition highlight the stellar season that Chris is having, it started with him being named the Most Valuable Offensive player for the season opening First-Knox Cougar Invitational Tournament.  

Chris attended Kingston College between 2000 and 2008 and represented the school in Hockey, Table Tennis and Soccer (Football???). He was a member of the Pepsi under-13 (semi-finals 2001) and played on the Colts Under-16 team who were losing finalist in 2005. Chris was a member of the Manning Cup team for three years, leading the team to the semi-finals in his final year. While in Jamaica he was also a member of the Naggo Head team, which competed in the National Premier League.  

In addition to his exploits on the field, Allen has also excelled in the academic department; he left KC with 9 passes at the CXC level and 4 passes in the CAPE exams. He presently has a GPA of 3.2 and plans to declare a major in Computer Science.
