Toronto 2nd Fortis Friday of 2006

Toronto’s second Fortis Friday of 2006 was held immediately following the Annual General Meeting on June 23, 2006 at the Delta Toronto West Hotel. This is the second consecutive year that the two events have been essentially combined. After the formalities of the AGM, the gathering spent the rest of the evening "liming," eating, drinking, discussing KC and of course talking about the World Cup. As customary, a few first timers attended this event and were among those who stayed around to "close the bar" in the wee hours of Saturday morning.more >>

K. Churchill Neita Interform Quiz

The curtain came down on the 5th Kenneth Churchill Neita Inter-form Quiz Competition with the presentation of awards ceremony on Friday June 10th, 2006 at KC’s Melbourne campus. The competition involves all the 7th to 9th grades including the teachers (masters) at Melbourne. The coordinators are nurse Tasella Collie; guidance counselor Sonia Watson and staff teacher Maguerita Hall. Three KC Old Boys served as quiz` masters and researchers of the questions as well as judges: Twan Beckford,  Andre Bruff and Romane Townsend. DP Beckford: A legend in purple and white

I first met the legendary DB Beckford, popularly called DP or Deeps, in the summer of 1984 when just six months out of university I was sent from the Ministry of Agriculture in Hope Gardens to be the new parish veterinarian in Manchester. Shortly after I got to Mandeville the vet whom I was replacing decided to take me around Mandeville and introduce me to his closest friends and favourite clients.

Our first stop was at the house of DP and Pansy Beckford which was majestically situated on a hill off the Greenvale Road. He had known the Beckfords since their days together at the University of Guelph more >>
